I have been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2011. As an IBCLC, I make home visits to assist families with their breastfeeding and/or pumping issues. I have experience in a hospital setting as well.
I graduated with a BS in biology from Millersville University. I have 3 wonderful children all of whom I breastfed. My passion for breastfeeding started after the birth of my first child in 2006. I became a volunteer breastfeeding counselor in 2007 for the non-profit group, Nursing Mothers Alliance. After 12 years of working in the pharmaceutical industry, I seized an opportunity to pursue lactation consulting as a career. I obtained additional clinical hours by interning with an IBCLC at St. Joseph, Phoenixville, and Paoli hospitals. By 2011 I had obtained enough clinical and counseling hours to be able to sit for the IBCLC exam. That same year, I received my certification. I am a member of ILCA and PRO-LC.
While not helping breastfeeding moms and their babies, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dog, scrapbooking, and baking.
